Maui: Sunset & Dinner Tour to Haleakala National Park

Before you book

  • Afternoon pickup is from a list of 136 hotels, condos and stops. Polynesian's own site says it cannot pick up in residential areas or at B&Bs, so check that your pickup point is on the list and confirm it.
  • Not suitable for pregnant women, people with heart problems or altitude sickness, or anyone who has been diving in the previous 24 hours; the operator's own site asks divers to wait 72 hours.
  • The group watches sunset from the summit area of the park. No one can guarantee the view, as the listing itself says. No reservation is needed for sunset, and park admission is included.
  • It gets cold up there: one guest left town in the mid-80s and watched sunset in the 50s, so dress warmly. The drive down is in the dark, and the operator warns of very rough, winding roads.
  • Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before, which is the real hedge against a poor forecast.
