Before you book

Under the park's 2024 air tour rules, the one permitted route over Haleakalā avoids the crater, so expect the volcano's slopes from the air, not a look down into the crater.
The same rules allow flights over the park only on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 11 am to 2 pm (4 pm for quiet aircraft), so ask what a flight at other times covers.
Check in at the Kahului Heliport; Air Maui's own site asks for 30 minutes before the flight. There is no hotel pickup.
Give every passenger's weight at booking. A single passenger of 240 lb or more, a couple totaling 420 lb or more, or a group of three or more averaging 200 lb must buy an extra seat.
Weather can change the route or cancel the flight, and no one can guarantee the view.
